Celia Hordern

Celia is an experienced and compassionate Psychologist with over 20 years working with adults and adolescents in both public and private mental health settings. She is clinically trained and registered with APRAH. Celia has had experience working with both groups and individuals and providing supervision to Psychologists in training.

 

Celia takes a whole person approach, looking at understanding all areas of client’s lives to increase understanding and produce change. She draws from a variety of bio-psychosocial models having trained in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness integrated cognitive behaviour therapy (MICBT) and dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT). Working in a collaborative manner with empirically validated treatment approaches is emphasised.

 

Celia works with people experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties from mild to severe. She has particular expertise in treating Depressive and Anxiety disorders. She aims to provide a warm and accepting environment from which clients are able to enhance their coping skills and address unhelpful patterns of behaviour.
