We’re hiring.

Freedom meets support at a boutique inner-city practice

Have you been searching for a position in an established private practice where your personal needs, aspirations and professional challenges are recognised?  Would you like to work with a psychology group that encourages your growth as both a clinician and successful autonomous business person?

We are The Talking Cure, an independent, innovative practice "run by psychologists for psychologists."

With more than 20 years’ experience in private practice and leadership in public health, directors Caroline Weinstein and Christine Miller have recognised the importance of peer support, collaborative professional relationships and a calm, pleasant working environment. At the Talking Cure we aspire to foster happy psychologists who can thrive long-term and provide the highest standard of client care.

What we can offer you:

  • A ready-made referral base and clientele that align with your areas of interest and expertise from day one

  • Flexible working hours and the freedom to determine your own case load

  • Encouragement to create and run your own business, free from contracts with restrictions on trade or exit clauses. (We recognise that the rapport between psychologist and client is paramount to the success of any therapy and therefore consider clients to be yours to continue working with should you choose to leave the practice.)

  • End-to-end admin support including full reception services 6 days a week; after hours messaging service; practice software to manage appointment scheduling, invoicing, electronic clinical notes and bookkeeping services.

  • A warm welcome into the team in person, an invitation to our friendly group WhatsApp chat and the opportunity to reach out for any assistance you may require.

  • Mentorship and support during all career stages and any difficult clinical circumstances; including bi-monthly peer consultation.

  • Respect for your individual practice style, open communication and opinion-sharing between associates.

  • Supervision for the registrar program by AHPRA PsyBA approved supervisors at no cost to you.

  • An appealing work environment situated within a remodelled building in exclusive South Yarra. Onsite parking and excellent proximity to tram, bus and train transport.

You will have:

  • general unconditional registration as a psychologist with AHPRA

  • ability to provide services under Medicare Australia

  • personal professional indemnity and public liability insurance

  • experience working with a range of clinical and risk presentations.

  • demonstrated ability to effectively engage clients and capability to work autonomously

  • ability and desire to work in an associate model of practice which includes maintaining your own client records, any GST charges and personal superannuation, sick and annual leave

  • the desire being an independent psychologist without the headache of running a practice

At The Talking Cure you work independently, but are never alone!

To further explore this opportunity, we invite you to send your CV along with a cover letter detailing your experience and why you are interested in joining our practice to admin@thetalkingcure.com.au.
